Its been 10 days since I got the second dose. (7 days after the second dose is when it reaches its highest efficacy)

I haven't changed my behavior, but I'm just so much less paranoid about small things like getting packages from the grocery store, food from a restaurant, gas stations, and people nearby who don't wear masks or wear it under their noses. I still wear my mask pretty much everywhere. Mask + hand sanitizer in my car/pocket + vaccine...theres an extremely low chance I'll get it.

Wife is getting her second shot this week. Our neighbors, the only people we're in close contact with, all got covid several weeks ago and recovered. So our household is good to go.

how were the side effects for you, after the first and second dose?

1st shot at 5pm - sore arm all night, went away after 24 hours
2nd shot at 8am - sore arm worse than the last, as well as fevers, chills, bodyaches that started at 8pm and went on all night. The next day I took a tylenol and just felt some bodyaches that resolved that second night.

I purposely did not want to take tylenol the first night cuz I wanted to see the extent of the effects. I've never gotten any reaction from a flu shot. I dont recall ever having the flu. I haven't even had a common cold in 4 years.

I'm trying to volunteer to help administer the vaccine in my area, partly because you get high vaccine priority. But I didn't hear about the opportunity until the spots filled up, so I'm going I can get into the next round of volunteers.

Antibodiess fade

Protection from influenza vaccine is thought to persist for at least 6 months. Protection declines over time because of waning antibody levels and because of changes in circulating influenza viruses from year to year.
