I think the hard callbacks to the classic sitcoms like I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dyke Show, I Dream of Jeannie, and Bewitched are going to throw some people off.

I watched those shows a ton when I was a kid, but I think a lot of that is going to be lost on a lot of people.

They've moved through generations and into color television by the end of the 2nd episode, so I'm interested in seeing what comes next.

If you didnt grow up with like Bewitched and I Love Lucy reruns then I can see being turned off. My biggest complaint so far is that the second episodes cartoon intro looked way too 21st century. It automatically took me out of the episode because it felt so lazy.

Like it's part of the MCU but more of a 'we're not part of the MCU just in name and a few references'

I don't know that it's fair to try to judge what the overall message of the show is just off of the 1st two episodes. Nobody really knows what's going on yet.

It's a parody of Bewitched's opening. Thought it fit well.

And yeah I understand the homage to sitcoms throughout the years so I think its premature for me to judge it. I just felt it didnt do too much of anything that interesting but maybe it will tie together.

My guess is that it's
MCU spoilers Vision is being rebuilt after the war and this is just inside his memory. Like they're trying to help him understand things and he picked up on what he had, like how he was made of the good parts of Ultron

Simple. Theres a problem with Wanda, but we dont what it is or who is causing it? The problem has Wanda and Vision living in some sort of television sitcom lifestyle for whatever reason yet to be revealed. When this illusion is finally broken and the true culprit is revealed and/or beaten, the outcome of this ordeal will lead into the next MCU film, Dr. Strange in The Multiverse of Madness.

Its 95% black and white sitcom so far. Itll probably get better later on, but its a slow burn Im not a fan of.

So Ive looked at the second trailer again and the production blurb on Wikipedia and I think this is a very general idea of where were going...

Episode List....

1. 50s Era
2. 60s Era
3. 70s Era (easily confirmed)
4. 80s Era (easily confirmed)
5. 90s Era (seems likely, but Im not explicitly seeing it in the trailer)
6. ?
7. ?
8. Real world
9. Real world

Now that only holds true if we dont spend two episodes in the 70s and 80s but I dont think we will. The 70s will be heavily Brady Bunch era themed. Expect a Mr Mom vibe from the 80s, in the sense that things will be grungy-er and less kept. We may also see more fighting between Vision and Wanda. The 90s episode should be heavily Full Housed themed given Olsens connection to the show. I dont know if will get a Modern Family era episode or not. I would say by that point the walls of the illusion should be breaking down.

Judging by the trailer Id also say the mind stone is heavily factoring into this. Either this is Wanda rebuilding the stone or it was never really destroyed.

I overall like it but it does kinda feel like I'm getting into viral marketing for a main event rather than a TV show I enjoy all the way. The comedy stuff is a bit hit and miss so I'm worried it might drag on.

I'm sure the payoff will be worth it but I'm not convinced yet that the payoff will need 4 (?) eras of sitcoms to get there.

I think Falcon and Winter Soldier would have made a better MCU tv debut show and then worked their way to crazier stuff like this
