I think it's a gorgeous game but when I play it I feel like it's trying too hard to do too much.

I really enjoyed the first RDR.

But I can never finish a GTA game, I just find the world so massive I get overwhelmed and then bored.

But I didn't feel that about RDR... Haven't played 2 yet

Got RDO since its $5 and a handful of friends play. It's fun but its clearly meant to be grinded with the most useful things being locked behind rank and gold.

Just dont do the extra stuff? I mean you can play the game and just do the story.

tbf, Death Stranding is an outlier for modern AAA games, and is tedious in its own right.

I hated Dutch, but not for the reasons you're supposed to. He's such a lazy fucking character with a voice that's too hammy for the worst western movies. Not one person has ever talked like that. At least not naturally. And the "one more big score" motivation was even lazier. The group sticking around after all his repetitive bullshit was worse. If he's the brains behind their gang then the gang were basically all mentally handicapped and were dribbling drool out of the sides of their mouths the whole game, which we know isn't true because several other members are far more intelligent than Dutch. But somehow HE'S the leader.

It's one my favorite games of all time, so I disagree. It single handedly changed my perspective on games focusing on realism over quick pace.

I beat Red Dead 1 and had a good time, but I couldnt beat Red Dead 2. It was just so damn boring and linear, I felt like I was wasting my life trying to get through it

Is the game really that annoying? It seems like something that I would enjoy but so many haters recently are scaring me off. I'm playing The Outer Worlds right now and I'm at like 35 hours with what feels like a bit to go PLUS there seem to be so many different ways to experience the game but everyone hates that it's "too short ".

Back in the day I had a gamer friend who praised Skyrim for being such a great game, but in the next breath said he beat it in one day and traded it in for a different game. I've bought that game 5 or 6 different times over the years, most recently on Switch where I put in another 150 hours so far and I'm still not done.

I loved the first RDR but never really felt like playing past the first hour or so in GTA 4 or 5. Should I spend my money and limited time on RDR2 do you think?

It sounds like you just take your time with Skyrim/Outer Worlds or maybe just games in general. I don't think the latter took me 35 hours to beat it, but I was expecting something on par with Fallout NV which it just wasn't. I also don't think it was like a completely terrible game, but it's just one of those underwhelming games that I'll never touch again.

Skyrim took me like 50 hours to do the main quest, and I played Oblivion for years before I ever finished the main quest <_<
