Virulent antisemitism was par for the course back in those days. People just didnt take Hitler seriously. Even as close to the war as the Berlin olympics the western nations just saw him as tough but effective.

Yeah, 'prison'.

More like luxury suite where he could do whatever he wanted as long as he never left the premises. The authorities coddled him, as can be implied from releasing him after barely 9 months out of a 5-year sentence(which itself makes little sense. 5 years for instigating insurrection?).

He used that time very productively towards organizing his Nazis and re-strategizing on how to take over the country, fine prison sentence indeed. It actually helped his political career immensely. Idiots.
