Exactly this. I don't understand why people get so bothered by it.

I wear a mask while driving because it gets me used to having to wear one throughout the day. I think of it like reps. Just keep practicing/doing it, even when you don't really need to. It's harmless but it makes the act of wearing it all day less cumbersome because I've gotten used to it.

Like most people, I don't really think about the facemask I'm wearing after about ten seconds. Not all of us are so obsessed with them, sometimes we even forget we have them on.

That said, I think it can also make sense to wear one in a car if you are driving with somebody else, or even if you are alone but are about to pick somebody up in your car.

not gonna lie, I only wear my mask when i'm going inside a building. When i'm in my house/car, or walking outside when i'm not near people, that shit is coming off. It's super annoying how it fogs my glasses up constantly.

Doordash & Uber Eats require deliverers to wear masks when picking up and delivering. You expect them to take off the mask in between? Itd be a waste of time and just plain silly to do that sometimes.

I didn't say you're a dumbass if you take your mask off when you come out of a building (which I usually but not always do). I said you're a dumbass if you act like you're a victim of goddamn facehuggers and have to tear them off the second you possibly can.

Some deliveries are a mile or two from the pickup. I typically will take it off after pickup and then put it on within a half mile of drop off. That said, whats the point if you keep it on an extra mile or two? Additionally, there have been times when I forget to put the mask on at drop off when leaving my car. So then I have to turn around and grab it from the car. So it would have saved time if I just kept the thing on the whole time.

Usually when I go out to lunch I just keep my mask on, since I'm going to need it for the drive thru anyway. It's not enough of an inconvenience that I have to rip it off my face as soon as I can. So what's a few extra minutes with it on?

This topic low key irritates me though. Even if you think people are being overly cautious by wearing their masks alone in the car, how are you going to slam them for it? This virus is destroying us. Thousands are dying daily and many more are being infected. We should be scared shitless and trying to protect ourselves as best we can, even if that leads to us overdoing it at times.
