Eren Jaeger compared to Daenaerys

and the attack on titan writer is brilliant for it.

over the seasons he built up erens rage. Not to mention fantastic world building for the marleyan country and showing them as simply human. But at the same time you sympathize for eren going on a rampage and getting his revenge.

that feeling was completely absent when Khaleesi did the same thing in game of thrones.

attack on titan is honestly one of the greatest shows ever written. Its underrated because its an anime.

I think Daenerys' heel turn worked, as in, I think the circumstances surrounding it, is what made it feel a little flat. But I truly do believe, after feeling the love and support for Jon, losing her friend, being betrayed by most around her and feeling paranoid, that she would snap and actually burn the building down.

eren didnt snap. He planned to destroy everyone. And it was fantastic

4 seasons, its on the last season now. The manga is just about done, maybe 4 or 5 chapters left, tops. The author truly had everything planned out from the beginning, no matter how much it may seem like shit just jumps the shark for no reason. It all comes together magnificently

The fact that the anime is called "Attack on Titan" instead of The Attack Titan makes me believe he didn't have a lot planned out.

the Japanese title is Shingeki no Kyojin which translates to Advancing Giant, which is basically the name of the Titan shifter. Its kind of silly to expect overseas localizers to know how to translate that so many years in advance.

You're giving way too much flak to people that don't speak English. The name works better in Japanese, and they tend to go for English that sounds cool over what's actually correct.

Right, nobody is quite sure when the manga will end. I don't know how many episodes are left but it almost has to end the next few chapters unless they're doing different endings which would be dumb.

Do you read the manga at all? Changing the ending doesn't mean changing the whole plot. I see what he's describing as something that could happen at any point in the current situation in the manga.

I'm all caught up, but I see it more as a dumpster fire of bad decisions from an author that wrote himself into a corner and not some magnum opus of carefully planned decisions.

Regardless, how you see it doesn't change that there was an overarching interconnected plot that indeed was planned ahead of time, even if he changed the ending.

No, it means I'm all caught up. It's a dumpster fire, and if what I'm reading was planned ahead of time than his ability to write an ending is even worse than if he had to wing it because of unplanned changes. Or are we pretending that "lol his name is falco and he can fly" is some sort of deep plot point?

Unless they rush things, they won't end in the remaining episodes. Either there'll be a midseason break, or a movie.

Or they can just rush things and be done with it, which I hope won't happen.

Why do people waste time on shit they don't enjoy? I'm sure that if studied, people who actually enjoy things would be proven to live longer and happier.

I do. It's the one where an alien centipede inside a tree made a little girl into the first titan and then somehow cannibalism altered an entire genetic line, and now we're watching a character who can literally see the future and has tested and confirmed that it's immutable wipe everyone out while a ragtag mix of characters fans love and characters fans hate band together to beat him. We're supposed to be rooting for them, except that in the most recent chapter Marley is STILL willing to murder Eldians rather than give them medical support. Meanwhile the jaw titan can fly because somehow drinking wine mixed with beast titan DNA means the jaw titan can transform now, even though the author went out of his way to hint that the female titan is the versatile one. The remaining fighters are up against a massive army of well coordinated special titans using the full extent of their abilities yet somehow we're expected to believe the fighters, who are half dead, have even the tiniest chance of winning. And somehow this fight is going to prevent the rest of the world, which had already committed to wiping out the rest of the Eldians (as of the most recent episode of the anime) will somehow sit back and let them live peacefully after Eren demonstrated that the very fear that drove them to aggression is absolutely possible (because it's happening right now). Meanwhile Armin is STILL crying about how useless he is.

Dumpster. Fire.

EDIT: And I'm wasting time on it because I used to enjoy it and a few minutes once a month isn't such a significant commitment that I'm not willing to at least see how it ends.
