on June 1st, 2020 when BLM activism was at its height in Washington D.C., 316 arrests were made. This compared to the 61 made on Wednesday.

What a fucking joke.

Also, ironically enough, more officers were injured on that single day than in a 10 day period between May 29th and June 7th.

another comment of note: the arrests of people you see in viral posts or videos are overwhelmingly because people who know them tip the authorities so they have to act, not because they did their jobs and tried to find them

Yeah, you really get a sense that the only reason the police are even really doing anything is because so much pressure has been put on them to do so.

Also another thing to note: we all know a police officer died on Wednesday during the attack. However, NO police officers died at all during D.C. protests over the summer last year.

It goes beyond that.

The police presence was lesser on Jan 6th, they held back on calling in the National Guard until well into the attack

For BLM, they had all hands on deck before the protest even begin.

This despite that they knew about the """protest""" well in advance. They had plenty of time to prepare.
