This. But don't expect much in the way of story or plot. There's some interesting lore here and there but the gameplay, especially the different classes, are really where it shines.

Also, depending on which class you use to level up you get different stat allocations. This can lead to some heavy min/maxing but honestly there's no pvp in the game so you could do end game content just fine with a non optimized build

It's very different from Skyrim . It's more of a hack & slash with different classes you can play .

Awful story too , and smaller map than Skyrim , but enjoyable gameplay .

You feel like you're actually fighting those big creatures instead of just swinging your sword at their feet like in other games .

I'd call it something more like a souls game than Skyrim.

Regardless it's a great game and one that I am very fond of.

It's pretty shit and tremendously overrated for some reason. It feels like unoriginal eurojank through and through and does little to nothing to set itself apart from the dozens of 3rd person RPGS that do it better.

Just don't climb on Griffins when they decide to fly around with low stamina.

Also remember that all roads seem to lead to Gran Soren.

if youre in it for the combat then expect good times. if youre in it for the other aspects then expect varying degrees of mediocre to decent.

Genuinely one of my favourite games. Like others have said the gameplay is excellent, and something about the tone just really appealed to me.

I'm always a bit concerned that the next time I go back to it there won't be many pawns to hire since the online player count will decrease over time. So disappointed when they made the follow-up game an MMO too.

why can't we get both?

skyrim - good lore but meh combat
dragon's dogma - good combat but supposedly bad/non existent story
witcher 3 - good story but bad combat

DA's Bitterblack Isle is darker than Dark Souls. The big risk is losing uncommon loot. Low-level raids (< Lv.60) are do-able, but everything kills you.

A mounted Griffin will try to drop you to your death. Fire-element attacks are the key.

Pro-tip: Rusted weapons seem cheap but upgraded they inflict debilitating ailments, making them among the most useful weapons in the game.

Man I went in there right at the beginning without knowing that it was the dlc area.
Came out strong with overpowered equipment. Nothing was hard after that.
