Why are there so many more Representatives than Senators? It's not proportionate.

A Senator has to have a much broader appeal to win an election compared to a Representative who just have to pander to their less politically diverse district. Take Kansas for instance. Roger Marshall is a freshly elected Senator so he doesn't have to worry about elections any time soon. Jerry Moran on the otherhand has an election in the next couple of years. He has to be much more conscious about not overly aggrevating Kansas's third district, which is much more liberal than the rest of the state and has a major portion of the populace so he isn't saying shit.
