If there's one thing i'm impressed with, is how many people blindly believe what Trump tells them even though he gets fact checked like every single day of his presidency. I thought people were voting for him as a meme at first but it looks like they seriously believe in him now... sad that America, if not for at least a few people in the government who believe in the constitution, is only a few steps away from turning into NK/RUS/China

Trump is just a newer installment of the same thing.

I think it might be evolutionary. Something about believing wild myths helped primative human communities survive longer back in the day and now we're stuck with it in the back of our monkey brains.

See, what you're forgetting is that Trump has spent 4+ years telling his people to not trust "their media" So these fact checkers you speak of are just another group of people that are hired to spread lies and cover up the real truth about the good that Trump is doing, and continuing to shit on Trump's name. So they don't even believe anything these fact checkers are saying. It's a deep deep rabbit hole.

There was an interview with a Georgia Trump supporter who was convinced that he had won the state. She said (paraphrased) "maybe people in Atlanta don't like him but the rest of us do. I've been to a few a of his rallies in different parts of the state and there's so many people"

If you voted for him in 2016, or even followed him early into his presidency, I mean, it's one thing to latch onto and I understand, but if you have gotten to the point of radicalization that you openly embrace him and everything he has encouraged STILL...... well, it's clear that if you lived in 1930s Germany, you'd be a blind follower of Hitler.

If you are stupid to follow a dumbass like Trump this long blindly, you are dumb enough to have been on the hook by someone as evil, manipulative, and yes, smart as Hitler, no sweat. Either you gain great respect for experts and other field and defer to expert consensus, or you believe your viewpoint has equal or greater validity than that of experts in other fields.

Engineers can be muleheaded and stubborn as anything. I like to ask an engineer a question at work ignore the first answer he gives me and then check back later once he's actually thought it through for the real answer
