I can't understand people who order easy to make stuff for their dinners/lunches at a nice restaurant.

I order whatever I'm hungry for regardless of the difficulty involved in preparing it. This is silly.

Same, i almost never order "cold" sandwiches. Breaded chicken cutlet parms and whatnot i'll order. Something that takes effort to make from scratch that I normally wouldn't bother with doing myself.

I order whatever the hell I'm craving at that moment (or looks good on the menu). I don't sit there and think about "well I can make that at home." That's the point. I'm here so I don't have to make a mess at home.

Do I also work there? How do I know which ones are easy to make? I don't order from a lot of places that put a lot of effort into their food. Not even steak is that much effort.

Yes. I don't care if it's something I could theoretically make myself. I'm paying someone else to do the cooking and it tastes better than what I can whip up. Seems like a non issue.

No, when I go to a restaurant, I order what sounds good to me regardless of its ease to prepare.

I'll echo this too though - I'll often get a McDonald's burger on the way home as it saves me the ~20 minutes of making a burger (and that's if I have the ingredients at home)

This is the logic I've used to talk myself out of ordering chinese food :(

So now I just make shrimp fried rice at home and while it's not bad it's definitely not restaurant quality

Sure, if I'm fatigued. What I don't usually do is go to bars to order drinks I have or can make at home.
