I feel like his default expression in the movies was Im scared, when the only things that really scared him were spiders and Voldemort. In the books, dude was brave and usually stood up for his friends.

Grint made too many dumb/goofy faces all the damn time, but yes, they did flanderize him into little more than comic relief.
The worst part is maybe the end of PoA-- in the books, he stands up on a broken leg & tells Sirius he'll have to kill him first to get to Harry, but of course instead in the movies he lays down & cringes while Hermione gets to be brave. ... Copied to Clipboard!
