then a few days later realized she misinterpreted what I said, called me and apologized, then called HR and explained it was a misunderstanding, so for now they have her working at another store in the meantime to smooth things over.

Women.

Wait, was that sexist?

We've worked together for over a year, and have shared very personal details with each other. She's just been stressing about a lot of things lately (school, sexist or misogynist comments from customers, family drama, relationship drama, etc.) so I sympathize. I mean, she and I are cool now, but I did tell her that we should only communicate at work from now on (once she returns to our store).

anyway, she was basically getting frustrated that I talk about her on-and-off boyfriend in a not so positive way (she never says anything good about him so what other opinion can I have about the guy?) and felt I was texting too much, when the frequency was the same it's always been.

she just needs to get her head straight.

Ha, no long game here, bro. I have no game anyway lmao
But in all seriousness, I was once interested in dating her, but not anymore. I don't need that kind of drama in my life.

At least she apologized and admitted she was wrong. I wouldn't have expected that.

username checks out? :P

anyway, I can't really get mad at her. I mean, I'm hurt that she misinterpreted what I said, seeing as I felt we were relatively good friends and she understood me. But she did apologize to me personally and called HR to tell them it was a misunderstanding, so considering what was done was done, she did all she could do to rectify the situation.

Yeah, she is a very, very nice and friendly person, which unfortunately a lot of contractors misinterpret as flirting so she has to deal with comments pretty often. I had to put one guy on blast because he told her to her face (after she mentioned possibly getting a nose job in a couple years when she has the money), not to get a nose job because she probably has a bunch of guys already lined up to eat her ass.

this dude is known for being silly and raunchy, and she said she didn't really take it too seriously, but jesus christ come on

Let us see the innocent texts to be sure.

I don't have them, I deleted all my contact stuff with her from my phone when this first started because I was angry.

But the general gist of it was that she was saying she was possibly going to leave the company over her frustration with men in general (customers specifically), and I said that'll suck because I probably won't see her again if she leaves, seeing as her boyfriend doesn't want us hanging out (he knows I was once interested in dating her). She apparently took that as I'm insanely jealous of her bf because I want to be with her. Made a mountain out of a molehill.

So you basically said, "I'm worried I'll never see you again" instead of, "If you quit, I'll be losing a friend"?

I'd avoid her altogether, sounds like bad news. I mean she went to HR on you bruh, no coming back from that.

Yeah. So I mean I guess I can partly understand how she could've misinterpreted that, especially if she's been stressing about a lot of things and not thinking clearly.

When she called and apologized, I also told her I'm sorry if I said anything in a way that lent itself to a misunderstanding.

You gotta understand though, we've been very open during our time together. She's talked about her sex life with her boyfriend, even told us when she was on her period and that if we smelled anything funky to let her know because she didn't wanna be walking around smelling up the place.

So that's why I was so taken aback by her overreaction.

It's all good now though

I feel ya. Even if she returns to our store, I'll still be cordial with her because I'm not an asshole, but I am going to do that from a safe distance. I don't want my job in jeopardy over some bullshit
