The head referee, Bill Leavy, admitted that he "kicked a couple of calls" about a decade after the fact. The officiating was so overwhelmingly and unsubtly biased that John Madden kept questioning every call during the broadcast, and the officiating of the game was the biggest headline the following day. No one remembers that anymore though. The Rooney family has a lot of influence outside of merely the world of sports and football, you think they wouldn't influence the league to help the Pittsburgh born and raised coach who had to fill the shoes of a Hall of Fame legend (Chuck Noll) so that he could retire with a ring and enhance his resum for the Hall of Fame as well? No disrespect to Cowher by the way, like the guy and his family. But the Stoolers got beat in that super bowl Vs. Some photos definitely are fake and were passed off to be real, and that's where the conspiracy theories come from.
