Only gotten as far as the yard.

Pros

+Fantastic graphics and sound design.
+Game has a good variety of build-up, environmental horror, gross out horror, jump scares etc. in its horror with well made environments.
+Mold monsters and Psycho family much scarier then basic zombies.
+Playable flashbacks and letters scattered sround works nicely for telling parts of the backstory/lore Instead of awkward expo dumps
+Resource management and tough enemies.

-Controls can be slightly clunky at times.
-The general darkness of the game can be a tad irritating for missing items
-Some of the boss fight stuff is a bit much...it was hard to take the car part of that first boss fight seriously

I hope RE Village stays survival horror. Zombie action is a dime a dozen nowadays. Well made survival horror is fairly rare still.

If I have a PS5 when its out Village is a day 1 buy.

It is great. And manages to maintain that perfect balance of survival horror for longer than most RE.

7 is great, just finished it the other week. Graphics on that engine are always incredible and the atmosphere was great. The ending dragged a bit, to avoid spoilers, sure. But it was overall a great time. I agree that 2 (Remake) is the best RE atm though.

I honestly think that Village is going to be an action game, and is lined up to perfectly setup the RE4 Remake which is coming afterwards.

That one Moldward Scissorhands fucker as I am going to call them in the incinerator room took a fucking headshot from my shotgun and hit the ground. I assumed it was dead and turn for the door and my fucking leg got cut off.

So lesson learned. Unless I verify the head is completely annihilated never turn back on an enemy ever even if I think its dead.

So glad when the game came out. The series got too action oriented by the fifth and sixth games. This game was a return to horror.

amazing game until you leave the house, quality kind of takes a dip after that imo. but still a great game, amazing atmosphere and tension and i loved how the house felt "alive" if that makes sense. probably my favorite part was the escape room with lucas, loved the way you do it on the tape and then in real life

Tbqh I felt like they could have easily made this a new IP. When they reveal the connection to RE's larger universe at the end, it honestly feels shoehorned in

I just don't get the love for that one. It's obviously better than 6, and I would put it above 0 and Code Veronica, but that's it.
