Only on episode 5 so far, wife wanted to watch it, I wasn't into the idea but it's better than I expected. It reminds me of Lost a lot, which I was a fan of through the first few seasons at least. This is what I can't get past though. So the program strands them on an island on purpose to put them in a situation of survival to learn lessons like teamwork, pushing through how horrible most of them are, I get that. The situation where they send them out there on a plane, intentionally crash it into the ocean as they all go unconscious from the pressure, their families know this going in and are like "yes this is fine?"

So they can likely die instantly, or drown, but this is okay because therapy. It's a really unrealistic and stupid plot point, and it's keeping me from liking this as more than a 7/10 at best. That is a very big, glaring issue for me. That one girl did die day one. Was her death worth whatever they felt like they needed to send her there for?

The families dont know whats happening. We see a convo between the project leader and Leahs parents. They believe their daughter is in Montana in some retreat or whatever. Unaware that she is on an island. Its the weakest part of her whole plan imo. Not entirely sure how she thinks she will get away with it.

The plane didnt crash. Might be the next episode that explains it, but its a ruse.

Okay this helps. When they were in that conversation with the parents and they said they felt bad about lying to her, it led me to believe they knew what was happening and weren't actually sending her to a camp. I'm on episode 7 and a lot is now unveiling so it's coming together better. Maybe I spoke too soon.

Yea, im two or three episodes into the expanse and not sure if im interested enough in it to keep going. I might switch to this if the first episode grabs me.

This took a couple episodes to get me into it, by the 7th i'm significantly more invested and intrigued. I think a primary purpose is to make most of the characters unlikable and that's off putting in the early stages until you start to understand the direction.

I couldn't get into The Expanse either and i'm a Sci Fi nut.

Episode 9 wtf is happening? Suicidal thoughts hotline number prompt was unexpected. This shit is going sideways just like Lost did, but it's not hokey and unrealistic. 2nd season confirmed so i'm assuming next season is a new set of girls being thrown on an island again. Madness.

Damn, pretty good first season, left off with a lot of questions, and a bit of a cliffhanger. The direction of season 2 can go either way, considering the end of the final episode when she sees the men on another island. They could be a focus, or that could just turn out to be an afterthought. I spent most of the season thinking Leah was batshit crazy, but it turns out she was right about a lot of things. I'm gonna cover any other spoilers because if people like @IfGodCouldDie wind up watching it and are looking ITT, I don't want to ruin anything.
