Between runs you're able to give gifts to people around the castle. Until you're much latter in the game, you only need to give one gift to each of them to get a new item. Nothing more than that until you unlock more things There is also a mirror where you buy your permanent upgrades [more health, extra lives, ect] You can switch between them with the icon on the left - *Very slight, non-story spoilers* ~~https://i.imgur.com/JZqfFmO.png~~ ~~https://i.imgur.com/hraUA8b.png~~ Try to unlock each weapon as quickly as you can so you can start getting the new versions of them. You have to have them all, and then upgrade The Spear like 5 times and then you can start upgrading the other ones If you see a symbol that's a "Fated Choice" that means you haven't selected it before.
