Bitcoin is gambling. It only goes up when there's a bit of an underground planning to dump some money into it to attract losers who are gonna buy high in anticipation it'll keep going up. From the last bitcoin boom, a shitload of ppl lost their money and even committed suicide in droves, but that's a story conveniently being left out. Bitcoin price also won't go down as much as people might anticipate because it's happening for a 2nd time. Bumps like this usually leave scars and constantly trying to profit a bit off it is literally gambling because your fate depends on when and how much the rich are willing to do a sudden dump.

Not to mention it's not a gradual increase, so it's literally a big money dump to freak people out and make it a big news. It's not exactly some obscure strategy, just that a more credible stock trading will have various laws and contingency to prevent it from becoming literal gambling like bitcoins lol

Bitcoin is not a practical currency (~4 transactions per second LOL). This is pure speculation and it will crash again. Would be nice if people learned their lesson this time so I wouldn't have to listen to delusional morons claiming it's the future.

@AloofHermit

Maybe some nerd or a drug dealer buys shit with Bitcoin but the average American doesnt.

I would wager less than 1% of the USA population has ever even owned BTC let alone purchased something with it.
Yeah, it's a pain in the ass if you pay taxes like you're supposed to on Bitcoin. If you use it to buy something that's a taxable event.

Damn I didnt know it was that bad.

I never bought BTC, but if I someone gave me some I would sell it ASAP.
That's the thing, businesses that do accept bitcoin typically use a service that immediately converts that bitcoin to actual money to complete the transaction, so the business doesn't handle bitcoin themselves at all.

That is an irrelevant opinion.

Teslas market cap 627 Billion and they are basically a monopoly on EVs in the a United States... Compare them to a company like Apple whos market cap is over 2.24 Trillion and they are competing with many other industries unlike Tesla who is romping and stomping past the competition.

Lol math and financial figures of public companies aren't a matter of opinion.

And tesla isn't valued where it is because of electric vehicles. Thats small time(proportionally). Their market cap is bigger than the five biggest auto makers behind them combined. What makes tesla interesting is they could potentially be a prominent player if not the prominent player in energy. Which would maybe make them the biggest company in the world.

And I wouldn't say that's totally unrealistic, but it's very far from proven and is going to rely on a mountain of unforeseen variables, many of which tesla and musk won't have control over.

I'm just saying, it would be highly speculative to buy tesla where it is currently trading. And holding it where it's currently trading is the same as buying it there. But hey, godspeed. I wish you more bountiful gains to come.

In terms of sales volume, Tesla is still nothing compared to the other car companies. When it comes to batteries, they still don't make their own, but do you see them taking over the likes of Panasonic (who they currently rely on) or other companies in the space? Others claim that Tesla shares represent all of Musk's endeavors including SpaceX, but it doesn't.
