Aren't most of these between teenagers when the girl gets knocked up though? I mean there is a reason why the term shotgun wedding exists.

This happened to an old co-worker of mine during the 1980s. She got pregnant at age 14 by a 22-year-old. Her parents forced her to marry him and signed the papers. They were divorced in 5 years.

Until like the 1990s in my state you could get married as soon as 14 if your parents signed off on it. Then they changed it to 16.
