my friend told a story where he got pulled over after having a handful of beers and blew right below the legal limit

the officer asked him to take it again

easy to say when i'm not there, but i feel like that's persecution at that point and you can just say "sorry officer, i've already complied with everything and i blew sober, if you want to take me in now you can, but that sober reading will be entered into the record and i will not blow again"

and there's no way a good lawyer couldn't get you out of a dui when you already blew a sober test

right?!

(dont drink and drive)

You are not obligated to blow on it even once. You can refuse.

Usually gets your license suspended but if you were gonna get a DUI it was going to be suspended anyway.

yes, but can you refuse the 2nd time without getting your license suspended?

my job is dependent on me having an active license (even tho i rarely ever drive for work)

Just say that you don't want to

Then say, no I really don't want to

Then say, dude, I really don't want to because I've heard bad stories about the machines being faulty sometimes

Then they usually will leave you alone of you weren't giving attitude

You could just not drink and drive. Easiest solution.

no...

Then you'll just be too much effort and privileged for a maybe DUI when they can just let you go and snag another dude within the hour

It actually depends on your state/county/city laws.

Your rights in the US Constitution don't change just because a cop asked you to do it twice.
