I was prescribed OxyContin after double hernia surgery.

Shit sucked. Made me feel intensely apathetic and dizzy starting on day 2. I switched to basic OTC painkillers soon as the got to a level where I could sleep without the OxyContin(about 3 days) Took it at the exact intervals and dosage prescribed until then.

Glad I had that experience because it really will make think thrice before ever taking them again and really cautious with them in the future. I wasnt suicidal or anything but I never felt so not me in my life. The apathy and dizziness came in waves. I would just be sitting there and boom one or both just smashed me outta the blue.

Just would sit there looking at the TV barely thinking or lying waiting for the dizziness to go away.

I've been prescribed vicodin, lorcet and hydrocet. Took morphine once to come down off some adderall.

People have very different reactions apparently.

A lot of people love them, but I had the same experience you did, except with wanting to throw up instead of dizziness.

I had to have a couple surgeries and I hated the damn pills, I couldnt walk for months and I lost interest in everything... books, games, shows... all of it bored me out of my mind.

i got vicodin when i had my wisdom teeth removed. did a full first day, a couple on day 2, maybe 2 others and then never did another one.

Took a Norco during my wisdom tooth recovery this year and it barely did more than the Motrin. Tossed out the rest of the bottle.

Had a morphine drip back when I had some reconstructive surgeries and it helped a lot with the pain. They tried to give me Dilaudid and all that did was make me itchy.

I work in pharmacy so I've gotten pretty wary of opioids.
