Yo, one of my professors just refuses to give me an A+ for any of my tests. No one else in the class got an A+ either. An A is the highest he gives out. I e-mailed him to ask but it has me genuinely worried about not getting a 4.0 GPA because this mans is choosing to limit his grading. To me, an A+ should mean you fulfilled 100% of the requirements, not that you went the extra mile.

So this is a class where the professor has complete discretion on grades like this? If you're talking about essays, then you're complaining to no avail.

A vs A+ shouldn't affect your GPA. A+ looks nice but does little. An A- WILL impact your GPA though. Is that how it works? I really thought I needed straight A+'s. I've got two final grades, one is an A+ and the other is an A (because that prof doesn't give out A+ grades) so I was concerned I couldn't get a 4.0. So basically just strive for an A at a minimum and go for the A+. --- i7-4790k 4.0GHz, 24gb DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Founder's Edition I'm a Celtic. ... Copied to Clipboard!

an A means 4.00 GPA. no + needed
if you get all A's, you will have a 4.00 A- translates to 3.7 GPA, B+ is 3.3, B is 3.0, and so on --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

My college (and high school, for that matter, iirc) only did letters, no pluses or minuses
really no need for pluses and minuses ever that i can see, or even a letter at all. a number seems perfectly fine --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
