As you can see with cyberpunk 2077, they seem to have to sacrifice everything else for a good looking dense city.

Is it nvidias high end card monopoly or the consoles holding back the advancement of video games or a bit of both?

We are getting dense cities like in watch dogs and even spiderman ps4 but they are all lacking the living city element. The npc numbers and actual good AI.

When do you think we'll get a game on the scale of night city in cyberpunk 2077 and times it by 3. With working public transport, with npc density like Hitman's fake npcs but actual npcs with smart AI?

That kind of stuff is usually CPU limited, and we already know many games are essentially CPU limited on consoles. I know the Horizon developers have said they were more or less maxing out the base PS4 to get the game working.

That's one reason enthusiasts are hyped about next gen. There is WAY more processing power in the CPU.
