anyone own any of these?
anyone spent much time playing any of these?

are there "console exclusives" to any of them?
are any of them better for glasses-wearers than others?

what's up with these?
are they crap are they good is it a gimmick that won't be cool for another 10 years?

I own the original HTC Vive. I played a lot the first year but since I am too lazy to set it up after moving it has mostly been collecting dust. It is still in somewhat of in an experimental stage so not a lot of companies are putting in a lot of money for AAA VR games. There are still a lot of fun indie games developers have put a lot of work in though.

I think it is cool now and would not classify it as a gimmick. The experience of being in VR is unique and it brings unique gameplay elements. If you are into new tech, enjoy new gameplay ideas and have money to blow I'd say it is worth. If you are expecting everything to be perfect and to have a whole slew of AAA games or don't want to spend a lot I would say it is not worth.

I will say one of the biggest gameplay barriers currently in VR is movement. You can move freely within the space but it is limited so most games have you teleport a lot. They do have VR treadmills but I doubt many games support them; this may be the future of it.

The exclusivity of games in the VR world is confusing; most are multiplat though.

I have ps vr. I play it just enough to feel satisfied with my purchase. For the first couple years I played it on and off and couldn't decide of it was actually worth it.

Just gotta find the right games. It definitely provides a new feeling to gaming. But at the price, the worth of that new feeling is a person to person thing.

I have one and enjoyed it. Basically does the job for a much cheaper price. Played through Half-Life Alyx with it.

I think this is a fair assessment

to me, the games that are good, are really fucking cool. Resident Evil 7, Doom VFR, Wipeout, to name a few, are huge improvements on their respective games (experience wise), and they feel like the next step in gaming

however there is a limited number of games that give that feeling

I couldn't get Doom VFR to have smooth controls and can't play it with the other movements cause I can never face the way I need. I play sitting down cause my back. So I can't just move my entire body everytime I don't wanna make giant turns. I end up never being able to just run straight down a hallway. Makes the whole experience be tedious and suck >_>. Probably my biggest pirchase regret so far. Someone told me you can change the controls. But you can't. I spent like 20 minutes combined looking through the limited options.

You on PC? Or you using a controller and not the move?

That doesn't exist in my menus when on PSVR and using the Move

I experienced PS VR for 2 years before it was done for, inside there it looked like PS3 HD gaming in terms of quality

120hz worked good in there.

Next one has to be a small headset

My impression is there are about 5-10 really good VR games, and a good variety of interesting small ones.
Which is cool, but not enough for me to justify the cost for a system since it's so high to get a good fidelity one.

My reality is glitched then. I couldn't of combed over that options list more and never had this problem with any other game.

I have an old DK2 dev kit from oculus. If you're a fan of flight sims or racing games, VR really is an unparalleled leap in gameplay, but for nearly every other genre it's mostly a gimmick.

I have 160 hours on it on PSVR. It's a mess and blurry as all hell. But it's playable and my file is 60 hours longer than any I had on consoles. Im on the OG PS4. Definitely the worse looking game, but it didn't stop me from getting into it.

couldn't imagine getting a non-wireless headset now.

i own the quest 1 and being able to bring it everywhere without any setup is just a premium experience that can't be replicated while still not being completely left in the dust when it comes to games that can only be played through computers.

there's really some serious lack of competition since the choice falls between the insanely cheap quest headsets with forced facebook connectivity and the far more expensive HTC wireless options.
