I've played: Bloodborne, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Persona 5, and The Witcher 3.

Bloodborne, Divinity: Original Sin 2, and The Witcher 3 are great, but Persona 5 is trash.

lame story and characters, archaic combat mechanics, poor pacing, and a repetitive gameplay loop.

I liked its music and presentation, though.

I loved Divinity OS2, but honestly OS1 is like a 7 at best.

Crashlands was a nice surprise of a game - one of the few mobile-first games I actually enjoyed.

So we're counting action games with RPG elements?

I'm a bit miffed there is no mention of Darkest Dungeon.

Terrible list but I play different games so meh.

I don't know if I'd call Darkest Dungeon an RPG, though. It has upgradeable stats and equipment, but for your people who can potentially die at the drop of a hat, not you yourself. I'd say it's honestly closer to Sim City management-style than an RPG.

It's literally a turn-based RPG. Moreso than a game like say, the Witcher 3 or Bloodborne, which are action-adventure games with stats.

Odin Sphere was the bomb diggity

I enjoyed Odin Sphere a lot, but am I really the only one who felt it was padded with too much backtracking? Maybe backtracking isnt the right word, but redoing areas, even if it was with a different character, was not entirely fun.

I think thats a fair statement. Darkest Dungeon might be my favorite (sleeper?) game in forever, either way.
