Free Youtube is pretty much completely garbage right now with all of the ads every 2 minutes, and I just got a new phone so I can't use jailbreaks to keep playing Youtube videos while the app is closed.
I don't really understand why it isn't commonplace for every subscription service to have yearly subscription tiers. I've just never been a fan of monthly fees, I'd rather just pay it all at once. Youtube Premium doesn't even have 3 month or 6 month subscriptions either. I don't really understand the purpose of that, do they bank on people forgetting that they're subscribed so they can keep charging you monthly? And nowadays especially I usually watch Youtube on my laptop anyway so that probably wouldn't help too much. But if I did have an Android I'd definitely grab that. The downside of YouTube Vanced is that it doesn't work when casting, which is how I watch YouTube mostly: casting to my TV. Not the app's fault, it's just how casting works.
