After some thinking, my ranking goes like this:

6 > 5 = 4 > 2 > 3 >> 1

Theyre all good seasons, but the show definitely gets better later on.

Imo, Id rank Goggins acting as follows:

1. Justified
2. Righteous Gemstones
3. Vice principals
4. Hateful 8
5. Fatman

Im going to start watching The Shield since I just recently discovered hes in it lol.

4 was literally perfect TV.

6 was the best for me due to how everything ended, and Sam Elliott did a great job as a villain.

The first season is formulaic as fuck and doesnt lend itself too well to binge watching, IMO. However, it still has good character development, writing, and acting. It sets up the awesome season 2. But season 4 is definitely when it hit its stride for me.

Season 2 is the best, with esteemed character actress Margo Martindale's incredible performance.

Amazing show, though. And enjoy the Shield. It and Justified are two of my favorite shows.

I can definitely see the argument for season 2 being to the best. I just found later characters to be more interesting. Honestly, seasons 2-6 are all solid seasons, and some of them are only slightly better than the others. Martindale was definitely good tho.

Is it worth watching solely as a Timothy Olyphant fan? As in, will he carry the show in the same way he and Ian McShane did in Deadwood, even though I wasn't really interested in the old west?

Olyphant is definitely the star and carries most of the show, but Goggins is equally as good and even better if you like good villains.

To be clear, I meant Olyphant is in Deadwood. Definitely check it out, his character in Deadwood feels like a Wild West version of Raylan, and the movie that finally wraps things up came out this year.

You are in for a ride with The Shield. My favorite show of all time. I will tag this or another specific Shield topic and watch with great interest. The Shield is intense as all hell, especially the later seasons. Really ramps up the stress.

I think that just speaks to the show itself because it literally is quite the roller coaster of emotions.

Ah, gotcha. I like him Fargo season 4 and, of course, Justified. Well, looks like The Shield is my next show to binge watch.
