Am I taking a possible economic downturn into consideration where people may need to be let go and the chances of that happening to me in a smaller workforce is less likely?

I've found 100-120 is a nice sweet spot before it gets too big.
Previous employer had 6k, but the local office was around that size. Started getting bigger than that and I stopped knowing everyone as well. Right now I'm at a 3k place and it feels bigger since the office is bigger. At least it did before COVID wfh. --- aka kriemhilde00 ... Copied to Clipboard!

50 probably as this means it'll be more easy to meet people I like and stay away from those I don't. Anywhere I've worked has had over 50 works on one shift and it creates a good vibe.

I had like 20 jobs before I got into my career that I've had 7 years now, and at least 15 of them were for corporations. The smaller ones were some of the worst jobs I've ever had.

50, when it comes to work I like to keep a low profile and more people would make it more likely to not be noticed.

i mostly had in mind though 5 and 50 people that you work with at one time, not total that the workplace employs I work in a manufacturing facility with multiple production lines of varying sizes . The fewer people on the line the less problems we have. The larger departments have more personal conflict between the employees and more absentee issues. Not entirely unrelated , the larger lines are predominately women , while the smaller lines are heavily staffed by men. The larger lines usually involve handling smaller components placed into larger housings where small hands are advantageous, are air conditioned, and the employees rotate hourly. While the smaller lines are the dirtier and more monotenous machining jobs. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Depends on what you mean. Most jobs I have had usually had more people. Like my two most recent jobs. But while we have tons of people, out areas have less. Like at the bus station, we have a ton of people. Bus drivers, van drivers, dispatchers, servicers, management, etc... But while there were a to of people altogether, my sections of servicers was like normally 3-5 people. Kind of the same here on base. We have everyone on based, or everyone in maintenance, or everyone in your building, or everyone in your section, or who share the same room, or who do the special duty you do. So, for most cases, I have 50+ for the whole work force, but work with like 5 closely for the most part. And other join in. Personally, I kind of like that. You can get close to the ones you work with all the time, but still have others to talk with and joke around with...

Totally depends on the personalities of those five people
Ive worked for places with hundreds of people and thats not ideal imo, but if you work with five people all the time and 1-2 of them get on your nerves all day then that could really be hell --- The Betrayer ... Copied to Clipboard!
