A leading travel industry association is developing a digital passport for international passengers who have been VACCINATED for COVID-19 and those who HAVEN'T been vaccinated could be BARRED from flying!!

The IATA said it is in the final phase of developing infrastructure for the passport which could be come essential in a battered tourism industry

The Hill obtained the statement which red "Testing is the first key to enable international travel without quarantine measures. The second is the global information infrastructure needed to securely manage, share and verify test data matched with traveler identities in compliance with border control requirements"

People who receive the shot will have confirmation of their vaccination digitally linked to their passports as a "vaccination passport" will bring peace of mind to potential tourists and reboot the industry

No countries have currently declard that international arrivals have to be vaccinated before they arrive however it is theorized that some, including Australia and New Zealand will be hesitant to let people in unless they have proof of a sho.

It's also unclear if airlines will mandate that passengers have a vaccine before they board but if they do decide to mandate mandatory vaccination, then a vaccination passport could become essential component of travel

Airlines for America has stopped short of saying they will mandate the shot and say they are only committed to restoring service in a manner that prioritizes safety and wellbeing of their passengers but other international carriers may demand proof which could complicate travel.

CeO Alan Joyce said it's likely all airlines will come to this agreement and make it standard to have proof of vaccination before flying

It comes as the United States is about to vaccinate 20 million of its people should it be approved next week as it is the hope it brings normalcy back around the world should enough people get the shot but having mandatory vaccinations could cause friction among the people and airlines if this goes through
