Felt like a tech demo at times. Half Life 1 was better and actually felt more like a game

2 was really lacking in enemy types and guns

HL2 use to be on my list of most overrated games of all time. I guess not many people over praise it anymore especially since everyone is still butthurt about HL3 but as I reflect on the time when people DID praise HL2, it was certainly extremely over the top.

HL2 help ushered the source engine and people thought Source and HL2 invented physics. It just blew everyone's mind away I mean I could literally tell pieces of garbage's apart in the game like wow so much details in just a watermelon piece on the floor you find somewhere in an empty room.

You know a game is overrated when people simply brush off a gaming bug/exploit/glitch/design flaw as a "oversight". (Kinda like how Xenogear fans think their half made game is just an oversight).
I mean I could literally use a flat wooden board and repeated jump on it to get to the end of the map or I could just bunny long jump to anywhere but these are "oversights" lmao.

Then comes Gordon Freeman. The literally nerd neckbeard God that nerds idolized. Apparently a blonde spikey haired guy with a giant sword is unbelievable but a neckbeard scientist with a crowbar kicking alien ass is realistic. I wondered why so many people loved this loser and generic of a character and then I quickly realized why. It's the relatability.

You know how everyone over praised Bioshock by calling it "immersive"? Well HL2 had "atmospheric" and it also brought to us the ultimate gimmick gun, the gravity gun. Baby's first revolutionary game.

HL1 is definitely better. One of the best experiences in gaming, period.

Yep, the guns sucked ass. If you're in the mood for Half-Life, better to play Black Mesa or even the original instead.
