I heard there are widescreen mods etc. The BFG edition is much more expensive too.

edit: to be clear I want Doom 3, I don't know which version I should get.

Wake up. You have to wake up. *currently a preta/hungry ghost*
Dai Grepher: I was wrong. My entire theory is incorrect. Zero Mission IS a remake of Metroid.

I wouldn't recommend it, it's not a great campaign even in underrated horror gem territory. It's just bland and a pain in the ass to config and mod up to snuff, the BFG was awful.

Check out something like Condemned instead, it's currently on sale and a much better campaign from the same era.

No I already want Doom 3, I'm asking if I should get the original or the BFG edition.

I think only reason to get BFG is if you like controller support like me. Otherwise, original seems to have way better mod support. I would look up on youtube some of the good campaign overhauls, that tweak the gameplay.

you don't need mods for widescreen, you can just tinker with a couple of lines in the cfg file

bfg edition changes the gameplay a bit but it's still fun. bfg also comes with doom 1 and 2 and no rest for the living which is nice if you don't otherwise have them as well, as the expansion for doom 3 and a new mini campaign that's a couple hours long

og doom 3 is a good time though

Why not get the BFG edition?

Doom 3 is underrated. It's hated because it's not Doom enough, not cause it's actually bad. Most horror first person shooters aren't nearly as good.

I already have Ultimate Doom and Doom 2. What is No Rest For the Living?

I don't want to miss out on mods if they are worth it to get the older version. I've heard there's a flashlight mod, a widescreen mod, and a Super Shotgun mod

Yeah I've grown to like Doom 3 more as time went on.

no rest for the living is a 9 level official expansion for doom 2 made for the xbla release in 2010. if you have the new unity port of doom / 2 it should also have NRFTL for free. it's a pretty nice set of levels
