There's a mini boss thing in this first area that I can't beat. Are you expected to get stronger and come back or is it a situation where if I don't beat it now, I never get the chance?

once you get the wall run, climb the vines by the save point and then drop down through the ceiling to do a plunging attack to shave off like half his health bar. then you can basically block any of his non red attacks with the saber, should be able to take him down quick

you are required to travel back and forth between places so don't think there are any permanent missables.

A lot of the game is backtracking to go to areas where previously couldn't.

I usually fucking hate any game with the stamp of shit (EA and Activision) but damn was Fallen Order good. Star Wars + Soulsborne = Gaming orgasm.

Most areas you can come back to. If it's the giant frog tho you just have to fuck around with he dodging. Some of those moves are bullshit like his homing attack.

Yes, the game is basically a Metroidvania

in fact once you can travel to other planets you can go to a late-game planet right away
