Maybe they saw that it worked for South Park (only they used construction paper instead of badly xeroxed paper colored with markers) and thought "why the hell not?" I do remember this show taught me that you were supposed to wear green on St. Patrick's Day, as one episode dealt with Angela forgetting to wear green and the kids were threatening to pinch her after school. Then she realizes her sweater is reversible and is green on the inside. So she changes it and Ninette runs over to pinch her not realizing she was now wearing green, and apparently the rules are if you pinch someone getting green you get pinched.
