"huge discount" being the same "discount" insurance providers pay but they pretend is your savings.

But i'm sure the baby insurance companies will start crying about i.

Do you actually have a medication or could any other CEmen who actually orders meds be able to tell us how they compare with other prices?

Nothing about this is suggesting they are selling them without a valid prescription.

pretty much how Amazon takes over every Industry. You can't hate any one thing because it provides cheaper, easier products for people who need them. Then they dominate every market. Tough moral question IMO and this is a clear example.

Amazon said it would also show comparisons to highlight whether it's cheaper for customers to pay through insurance or to rely on the company's discounts.

Nice

I feel this way. Perdue Pharma, for example, can rot in hell. Amazon is a behemoth but i don't see consumers dying due to their predatory practices, at least directly.

As long as the products remain cheap and affordable to those who need I dont see why the average consumer should give two shits about this new power play.

Eh, it actually will likely negatively affect people struggling with high medical bills. Particularly since no one here as thought about it yet, not using your insurance means that it doesn't count towards your deductible. So if you are counting on those maintenance prescriptions to eat up most of that, then you are still going to end up paying all that money back in through your visits.

This also doesn't hurt the insurance company in any way, the make money from you paying a premium and then not having to pay as much out. If you sidestep them then they are getting more money.

Shoppers have to set up a profile on Amazons website and have their doctors send prescriptions there. The company said it wont ship medications that can be abused, including many opioids.

Most insurance is accepted, Amazon said. But Prime members who dont have insurance can also buy generic or brand name drugs from Amazon for a discount. They can also get discounts at 50,000 physical pharmacies around the country, inside Costco, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and other stores.

Isnt the point of the discount is for those without medical insurance, not those with it?

Let's hope not. I already feel like they're working towards fucking it up for people like me with actual serious pain issues. Then again, there's too much money in it for them to let people dying effect it.

amazon's abusive practices are mostly on the labor side, not the consumer side

they're very good to their customers

also the clear intent is to let people take advantage of the option republicans created to ditch your insurance entirely (thereby breaking the system as people only go on insurance when they are about to use it)

to that i say, good. bankrupt the insurers, obliterate the industry, and let the government annex it all and incinerate the parts that introduce hardship to customers in order to extract profit.

? Of all the years I have ordered from Amazon, I can only remember a few times a package getting lost, or even late. Hell getting my stuff on time curing Covid. Technically the only wrong package I got was supposed to be delivered two houses down, so I dropped that off. Also usually once it is shipped, isnt it the shipping company's fault and not Amazon for a lost package?
