Just bought one of these new fangled 4K 120hz TVs, and I noticed some serious ass input lag on my Switch, and I learned that these TVs have a game mode setting to reduce input lag at the expense of picture quality.

Is the quality drop severe or barely noticeable? I couldnt really tell off hand but I was only quickly trying it out.

I got a 4k TV last year and I tried game mode for a couple days. I hated the picture quality, mostly the color just felt washed out, so I went with a much better setting for picture quality and never looked back. I don't play any multiplayer or quick reflex games, so I have never once noticed an issue with input lag.

Yeah I mean the input lag doesnt make games completely unplayable, but there definitely is noticeable lag simply based on muscle memory from navigating Switch menus all these years.

Not really, its about the same with my new set-up. And game mode DOES fix the lag, im just wondering if I lose all the upgraded picture quality I just bought to do it.

My Series X is acting all weird with game mode. Or, at least Tetris Effect is. Got this VCR-like static issue going on.

Man as amazing as the power of these new TVs are, I think im gonna miss simply buying the TV and being fucking DONE like I was with my 1080p the last 10 years.

Theres so many little options and settings now. Im gettin too old for this shit.

I bought an LG CX and it was basically plug and play. It instantly recognizes the systems I plug in and toggles Game mode automatically. The remote can control the systems so I don't need a special media remote. Should have gotten one of these I guess if you wanted pain-free.
