Never heard of, but nah, some kind of stew with pork and spicy saussage and beans. Mexican inspired flavors.

Is okra traditional in Mexican style cuisine? That's what was really screaming out gumbo to me at least.

Not at all as far as I know but it works, will thicken my sauce and I love the texture and what it does with flavor.

Anyway, a very spicy saussage. Sorunda, a Swedish saussage.

Are you gonna salt cure the okra to suck out the slime texture?

I really don't like okra, but once I had it when someone did this, it was more tolerable

I used the marinade just on the meat.

anyway, 2 cans crushed tomatoes, 1 can water, spices. I can list them later. Plenty of the chili mix.

oh I forgot to take pic before mixing but I made a Jodel post first so its screen from there.

Nah too risky.

Adding okra now, it will thicken the sauce and they are pretty sturdy despite being soft

Oh yeah added more chili mix and some kakao powder, I usually use beer to add some bitter but had none.

It tasted like soap for me too, but when I started to explore Thai food I had to learn to like it, so I bought fresh cilantro several days in a row and just ate it like that, eventually I could identify flavors and learn to like it. Now I love it with appropriate food.

It doesn't taste like soap to me but I think it's awful anyway. I can deal with a really small amount in things like guacamole as well as cilantro sauces used in mexican / cuban restaurants but I can't handle having it covering most of my food.

I remember in high school we got to eat at a lunch restaurant every day and they had cilantro in every dish, even fucking bolignese, it scarred me to avoid cilantro for over 10 years.

Its not an every use herb, only works with certain flavors.

It looks hearthy but its fresh with high acidity but balanced out so it doesnt take over. Umami rich sweet with an acidity picking it up and a quite spicy hot chili that lingers nicely.

And I love it has different textures and except the mirepoix veggies are clear to identify.
