Have you changed anything about the amount that you tip service workers since the pandemic?

Just ordered a pizza just now, and thought I should tip the delivery person more than I usually would because it's riskier to do their job these days. I had some similar thoughts the last couple of times I went to get a haircut too. I wonder if anyone else has tipped their service workers more since the pandemic? I know some folks are struggling more financially because of the pandemic and that may have shifted your tipping habits as well too. No judgement either way. I'm just curious.

Not really. I always tip when I would go out and now I simply don't go out any more.

If I did go to a restaurant or bar I'd still tip.

Almost every sit down restaurant is making take out such an easy process that I just order online, pick up and don't have to tip, so yea, tipping habits have changed.

I've tipped 20% for a while now but I've gone out less and less over the years, with my bar habit (that ended last June) being the only opportunity to tip and I'd usually go too far with that lol smh.

During the pandemic, I've had to do grocery delivery a couple of times and tipped $10 and also gave them some gift cards I was never going to use. I don't anticipate having to do any more deliveries for quite a while but if I do, I'll try to tip very generously because COVID is ramping up and it's the holiday season.

Nah

They usually charge me a delivery fee on my pizza, so I just count that as tip. I know the driver doesn't get the tip, but I dont see how a delivery fee makes sense either. No my problem

I also just walk 3 feet down the road to pick my pizza up to avoid paying extra anyway

Olive Garden has been doing this thing where they have their employees ask customers if they want to leave a tip when they are picking up their food to go if they decide not to leave a tip when ordering online.

I get it in a sense, but that's bad form in my opinion. At that point, what an I tipping for?

For delivery, I tip more now.
Dine in, same tip as before Covid.
Pick up, never tipped and wont now.
