Sleep provides not only the best bonus to catch rate, but also makes the opposing pokemon unable to act giving you free turns as well. Sleep in general is also just useful as it's the best status effect you can inflict with a status move. I think I've frozen enemy pokeymans maybe two times across the like seven generations I played. --- I'm sorry, but 10,000 of ANYTHING on a PS2 would absolutely destroy your framerate.
