I have had several fuck buddies, many one night stands, and dated a few women. I am almost 27 and have never been in a serious relationship. Lately I have been wondering why? And lately I have been realizing it's because I honestly don't fucking want to be in a serious relationship, especially a monogamous one.

Am I the only one that feels like this? I don't want to get married. My sister has had a serious boyfriend since 2014, but neither of them want to actually get married or have kids.

Is marriage and the nuclear family on it's way out, or am I just weird?

COVID-19 has helped.

People realize dating is overrated and life is much simpler when you can just dedicate your time and finances to yourself.

I read a book recently by prominent positive psychologist Dr. Martin Seligman that talked about how there's been a waning of the commons, including family. He said that the waning of common institutions could be one of the reasons why people are depressed at such incredibly high rates these years (since WWII years IIRC).

On the other hand, there are many non-traditional family forms, so it's good to be open to things like adoption, foster care, single parent households, etc.
