82 so far, which is one point less than Odyssey.

I look forward to playing it in ten years or so. (Finished Rogue this weekend and started Unity today.)

Still gotta play Odyssey in my attempt to catch up with the series. Really liked Origins but the level gating in Odyssey sounds like trash and the setting isn't nearly as cool as Origins or Valhalla.

Figuring out if I want to play Liberation on a Vita that I don't own yet or an HD version is blocking me for now.

I dont remember any level gating, but also Greece is easily one of the most beautiful places on Earth tbh

Odyssey's problem was that the leveling system was crap unless you paid for the DLC to improve the leveling rate.

People blew that out of proportion, I was constantly over-leveled without even trying, and no I didn't buy the boost.

Are these new AC games not about pulling up a map with quest icons and clearing them out anymore?

Two hours into Valhalla and its not gripping me as quickly as Origins or Odyssey did. Origins got me with the new coat of paint, Odyssey with the initial story/setting.

I think Ive just played too much of the first two. 150 hours of Origins, 100 of Odyssey.

Valhalla doesnt feel bad though. Its very pretty!

Cool, so this game has a game-breaking bug less than an hour into the game thanks to the update.

Neat.

I've been playing through most of the series - played the Ezio trilogy, Black Flag, and Origins for the first time over the last few months, now 30ish hours into Odyssey. I've really been enjoying, but I think I'll get Valhalla when I get my PS5 - mostly because I feel like the PS5 could take a while and I probably need a break before jumping in...

The instant you do an assassination and it doesn't instakill the guy, the game was ruined. It's not exaggerated at all.

It's not even like the rest of the game isn't bloated and slow enough. Theres 100+ hours of stuff to do anyways, why ruin assassinations?

So yeah, do you have to grind to assassinate in Valhalla? I know it's gonna be bloated either way, but if it fixed that, I'll def try it.

Did anyone choose the default character selection where you play as male and female Eivor? That seems...interesting but I just wanted to play as a hardcore Man Viking especially since I played as Kassandra in Odyssey.
Also really liking the two handed axe and normally I prefer dual wielding in everything

Setting aside that you can get a charged assassinate skill very early that kills almost anyone in one hit, with the nemesis-style style mercenaries and captains roaming the world, it'd makes them totally toothless if you could just duck into a bush and assassinate them in one shot.

Only because the AI hasn't gotten any better since AC1. It's probably gone downhill actually. I remember some assassinations in 1 being very tricky.

Beyond that, fine, don't make the nemeses and captains OHKO. But every random grunt needs to be OHKO.

So burnt out on Assassin's Creed after playing Brotherhood, Revelations, III, IV, Origins and Odyssey this year.

While Odyssey gripped me initially, it was a slogfest in the middle and it was exactly the same with Origins (which I played after Odyssey strangely). I agree with everyone who says those two games are a poor man's Witcher 3.

I'm so done with the series at the moment so unless Valhalla is absolutely amazing and different I don't see myself playing it anytime soon maybe even ever.

I do love the default Assassin robe. It's very Ezio circa Revelations look.

The more I play, the more I realise how janky the AI is. There's a section early on where you have two AI companions and you're supposed to set fire to some carts. I decided to sneak into the base, but your companions can set fire to the carts for you and the game does that thing where enemies can't see your companions so your stealth isn't interrupted. So, I just snuck around the base while my companions ran around burning down all the carts. They were literally running around going 'who did that' while my companions just stood there next to them.
