.....republican President again! Do you think he's overreacting?

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/graham-gop-election-fight-never-another-republican-president

In an interview with Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures," Graham pointed to several allegations of possible fraud or error that could have altered the election's results. He called on fellow Republicans to push back against the idea that Biden's victory is a done deal, warning that if they do not, it will set a precedent that would be disastrous for their party.

"If Republicans dont challenge and change the U.S. election system, therell never be another Republican president elected again," Graham warned. "President Trump should not concede, were down to 10,000 votes in Georgia, hes going to win North Carolina, weve gone from 93,000 votes to 20,000 votes in Arizona, where there are more votes to be counted. There are allegations of system failure, fraud."

Graham also said that the election computer system in Michigan is suspicious, and told Republican Senate candidate John James not to concede. Like President Trump, James looked to be in a position to win on election night, only to have absentee ballots put his Democratic opponent ahead the following night.

Yes, emphasis on "allegations." A very key word that is being used in place of another.

You guys did fight and that's why the Republicans lost the white house.

Maybe if they were more open and progressive they would avtually gain voters.

Yup.

They are so out of touch with the majority of Americans (especially younger Americans, who lean heavily toward liberal).

Would having those three states change anything at this point?

We could definitely get another Republican. Just need an exciting candidate like Trump, but maybe one less controversial.

No, he's not right. Americans will forget all about the Trump years, probably by January tbh, and elect another GOP monstrosity in 4 years.

It's all but a guarantee that Trump goes full scorched earth on the Republican party, ensuring his cult never turns out to vote for the "RINOs". There's also a non-zero chance that Trumpists will start their own party and end up siphoning away Republican votes.

What's werid is the electoral system MASSIVELY favors Republicans

Yet they have the balls to claim it's unfair against them

If the US had any kind of popular or proportional voting, Dems would dominate.

too many voters, got to take the voters entirely out of the equation and just let the packed courts decide elections!

Yeah, i never understood why this is, though

If you calculate the number of EC votes a state like Montana gets for how many people live there vs a state like Texas for how many people live there, you find that each person's vote in Montana carries more weight in a presidential election than a person's vote in Texas. Lesser-populated states are weighted higher than highly populated states.

At the very least, the electoral college system needs to be re-balanced so that it's more even.

Because it turns the election into a fight for states and smaller population states have disproptionately high electoral seats.

The idea originally was to stop high population centers like New York or California dominating the campaigns/policies of candidates.

But instead now it just means Florida and a small handful of swing states do.

In terms of pure numbers, the majority of Americans do not support the far right. All over the nation except a handful of southern states. That's not reflected by the Electoral System

Anyone thinking the Republicans are done is insane or lying on purpose(Graham). We just went through an objectively terrible four years, and while not all of it may have been Trump's fault directly he did nothing to heal or reconcile anything., Divisions within ourselves have deepened and or reputation abroad has plummeted.

Even still, he nearly won again.

If the Democrats can't figure out Congress and get some forward progress for people to get behind look for Biden to be out in 4 years.

But what is it that says "weighted towards Montana" have to mean "weighted towards Repubs" by default?

Lesser-populated states are typically more conservative. Areas with dense populations like cities typically lean more liberal and vice versa.

Republicans didn't have a bad showing in the senate race.

We may very well have another republican president. This time, people were just voting against Trump.

Well... Republicans aren't afraid to rethink and regroup.

That's how Reagan curbstomped 1980 and 1984, how the "Contract with America" happened, and how Trump somehow emerged from the 2016 dogpile.

I actually thought this to be true previously but the number of people who voted for Trump shows me it isnt. As long as Republicans dont nominate complete pieces of shit a large portion of liberal voters dont get motivated and dont vote if the Democrats have a boring candidate.

nothing suggests that it will always be the same parties forever. Republicans and Democrats aren't even the original parties of this country. we used to have different parties that no longer exist. Republicans could very well go extinct someday and be replaced by something else. And I hope they are

No issues there as we already have other parties. Too bad they have no chance to win.
