Its my understanding that there are races in Georgia and North Carolina still yet to be called? Whats the outlook there? It stands at 48/48 right now...

4 races up for grabs

Alaska: almost certainly Republican, though analysts have said it bears watching. Alaska can't start counting mail in votes til the 10th so things look ridiculously one sided right now.

North Carolina: they've stopped counting until the 12th I believe. Something to do with provisional ballots. Again, expect Republican

Georgia: thanks to Biden pulling ahead the downballot became close enough in both races that there are going to be two runoffs in January

I expect one will go Dem the other Republican, but that's very possible to change based on how the parties rally the state

It will likely be 50/48 until Georgia's two runoff elections. A 50/50 split would favor Democrats, who now hold the VP's office.

Assuming everyone who voted in the GE votes in the run offs and they vote the same way, it'll be slightly in the Republicans favor.

It's debatable. One thing people took for granted is the Trump factor. If his cult doesn't turn out, that's trouble for the Rs. Will Trump care about the party and rally for the two incumbents?

the fight for the Georgia seats is going to be insane given the stakes. Stacey Abrams is already starting to rally people for that.

Yep. I'm convinced Republican turnout will depend on Trump. Held right now, turnout would be depressed because of the big loss Trump took

NC is +100k for the R, it's extremely unlikely to flip. It will come down to the two georgia run offs and the dems need to win both of them or bitch mitch will continue to obstruct because dear god american citizens get help and the other guy gets credit.

So let donald keep telling the GOP voters that system is rigged so they don't bother to show up in january.

No one really knows. There are a ton of factors that will change turnout.

Also, Mitch McConnell has made it quite clear to the American people that a Republican run senate will not help pass a covid relief bill for a Democrat pres. So that's a large impetus for people who are on the fence.

Also, unless Trump decides to promote these two incumbents, the cultist (not Republican, specifically Trump's cult) turnout will be largely depressed because he's not on the ballot, and they're demoralized from his loss.

I'll call it a coin flip then. Man, who'd have thought so much would be hanging in the balance with Georgia of all places...

I think there are a lot of folks in Georgia who wanted Trump out but have no qualms about a GOP senate.
