33 y/o Ellen Page and 21 y/o Paris Berelc have signed on to star in 1UP, an underdog comedy film set in the world of gaming!!

Paris will play a college female gamer who wants to compete with the boys as Page will be her coach.

Fanboys and Barely lethal director, Kyle Newman will helm the film that will come from Buzzfeed Studios

Paris will play a female gamer who quits her college eSports team due to SEXISM from her male teammates and with a scholarship on the line, she's forced to assemble an ALL-FEMALE team that competes with the boys.

She recruits an unlikely screw of unskilled misfits and and an enigmatic coach played by Page who has a gaming scandal

The story is described in the vein of Pitch Perfect but set in the world of eSports with a Gamergate backdrop

Julia Yorks wrote the script while BuzzFeed's Richard Alan Reid is producing

Filming is expected to begin in Toronto, Canada later this month

Hopefully they'll address what Gamergate actually was about - someone buying reviews with sex.

I'm not against the concept inherently. I think it could be an interesting movie if done correctly. But I don't have faith that in the hands of "Buzzfeed Studios" this will be anything more than a lazy cash grab.
