The weapon breaking system is a legit complaint imo, if only because there should be a method to repair weapons that are on the verge of breaking. Maybe a place to go, or a resource you can use up.

Other than that, I think everything else is great and def a 10/10 game either way.

In order for it to be the best Zelda it needed;

- 25-30% of the land deleted, too much empty space
- a strong or the best soundtrack. Currently one of the weakest Zelda soundtracks
- better combat (all zelda's need this, tbh). Has the most weapons but only feels like there's 6 of them
- more enemy variety. Lots of staples are gone, too many books and lizals
- more main dungeons, less freebie/super short shrines.
- a better way to tell the story than a dozen cutscenes across the land

Right now it's a top 3 zelda, maybe #2, but it feels like it could have been more. BotW2 can be a masterpiece like OoT if they consider the above.

Traditional dungeons are awful. 90% of them are garbage anyways.
I wouldn't call them garbage, but they're easily my least favorite part about Zelda games.

They're very intricately designed, but the exploration is the best part about them. Which is why I prefer BotW in general.

-It's not a Zelda game in the slightest. Virtually everything unique to Zelda is stripped away to chase the western developer "open world" fad.

-There is no substance. You mostly just walk around vast empty plains. The core of the Zelda experience is dungeons. Of which there are none. Just that watered down Divine Beast bullshit. There is nothing to actually explore.

-Random rain to hinder exploration in a game that offers ONLY "exploration". Such stellar game design!

-Zero new ideas whatsoever. They just stole every idea from every other "open world" game.

-It takes too long to get ANYWHERE because of all the massive empty space. Link is way too slow especially with the asinine Stamina system. And even after getting a horse they're not fast enough considering how little content there actually is in the game.

-Combat is too easy. Even things like Lynels are just high HP punching bags designed to burn your weapons that give you too much time to dodge after their telegraphs. And if nothing else, you can just pause the game and use recovery items.

-Weapon durability is very horribly implemented. Kills any sense of reward.

-The controls are fucking awful. Just why do I have to hold down the lock-on button instead of just tapping it once as Zelda got right the first time?

-The voice acting is uniquely awful. Made that much worse considering they got real voice actors even for a Fire Emblem remake Nintendo basically set up to fail. Getting Christina Fucking Vee for that one none the less.

-An inexcusable small amount of enemy type variety for a game released in 2017. Less than the original Zelda released one year before I was born. And a lot of Zelda staples are gone as a result.

-100+ year old loli bullshit.

-The reward for collecting all the repetitive Korok Seeds is literally shit.

It's hard to be the best Zelda game when it's not even good in the slightest.

Honestly, it would be nice if they made a game that was like Twilight Princess but better. The atmosphere of that game was great. However, the overworld was large and empty, without very much to do.
