Current trends would suggest a person of color or a woman. In the past, Alex has said that he realizes his replacement is in no way his decision, but thought that Laura Coates or some LA hockey announcer would be good. I just hope it's not someone that will try to shoehorn jokes into the show. Keep it professional. There are very few game shows where the host is the only visible non player and he had a presence that fulfilled the high demand that the game places on the host of Jeopardy! He had a sense of style and humor but almost always was restrained. When he did cut a jab or sincere comment loose, it was always natural. He was extremely thorough and pronounced almost everything right with very few stutters and he was consistent enough to become synonymous with the show.
