One of Trump's major talking points in his 2016 campaign was getting manufacturing jobs back in the U.S. while Clinton basically ignored blue collar workers. A significant chunk of those blue collar workers in the rust belt were Obama voters that switched to Trump, simply because Trump told them what they wanted to hear.
