This was/will not be the full force rejection of Trumpism we need.

If we pull it off we will have narrowly averted disaster by razor thin margins. That is not a comforting thought. We as a nation learned nothing and it took a bungled pandemic killing 230k+ US citizens and rising for it to even maybe happen.

I am not proud to be an American anymore. I love my country but I am NOT proud of what it is right now. Trump is right that we need to make America great again but his map charts us right into hell. Bidens is a flawed map but it at least isnt taking us directly opposite the path we need.

Our country is broken, nobody cares to fix it and the best tools we are offered are rusted, and dented and dont work on half of what we need fixed.

I'm really hoping that the narrowness is due to the incumbent effect. We haven't had anything like this happen since 1980 given how many popular votes that Perot drained from either candidate in 1992.

He is old, and his mental fitness is a reasonable question people to ask. He would be the oldest president ever.

Secondly, remember how he actually WAS during the Obama admin? Couldn't go a month without him making some monumental gaff. His reputation was like that of a village idiot that Obama had to keep in line.

But that's how far things have gone. Biden now seems presidential.

Exactly. Even a full force rejection of Trump is still a somewhat soft win because we had an extremely middling candidate who cannot maximize the opportunitiy given to him.

I can sorta agree ish...but only when things are in good shape and you dont have a president who has made worryingly dictator like comments and actions on a daily basis.

When police are more accountable, income inequality/safety nets and healthcare are in better shape and we have someone sane in office sure some gridlock to keep things as they are wouldnt be so bad.

Maybe we should try looking at the policy reasons people vote for trump immigration, outsourcing of jobs....Democrats failed to do that or learn anything from 2016. Bidens pitch, like Hillarys, was Im a more decent person so I deserve to win, end of story.

Yeah it's bad because they will spin their narrow win as some sort of great triumph while republicans will just run another Trump-like candidate in 2024 and obliterate. Not to mention crushing in the midterms in 2022.

Yeah lemme move to Europe during a global pandemic on my restaurant worker wages. Super easy. I have no friends and no family there. I would be starting over with nothing and no one.
