I can't recall what LEGO actually cost back then, but it's always been on the "high" end, I think.
Some of the sets are priced weird though. Like the Avenger's Compound set is $100, but the Quinjet is $90. The Quinjet is WAY better (it has a nice weight to it). The compound feels like it's a $60 set at best, but idk. Maybe it's because it comes with Thanos and the gauntlet. Also, I still have some of my Bionicles somewhere.
