kill enough people to stop a majority (or maybe become president. dunno if she could have un-nominated at that point) -- really bad plan

try to force through a constitutional convention. -- billion to one shot

impeach Donald Trump -- best possibility, but still a huge longshot. even if it rushes through the house, the Senate could probably race the confirmation hearings ahead of it. also looks really petty to a lot of voters. maybe not enough to swing an election, but it's definitely something that needed considered.

so, that leaves only one. make damn sure Biden wins, and Emperor Mitch has only 48 friends in the Senate. dare the SC to legislate from the bench, and pack the court if they bite.

90% sure this doesn't actually stop the Senate from doing Senate things. though it might force them to pass the budget first. but once they do, Pelosi holding it up does nothing anyway.

That probably would have looked real bad for elections, especially with coronavirus and stimulus expectations. And if the left loses these elections, it's a much worse situation and the justice of course goes through anyway.

The ball is in the court of the voters imo.

Ultimately I don't think it was going to make a difference. And I don't think their fruitless attempts would make any difference to voters.

They bluffed and had nothing to back it up. Oh well. This was decided when RBG died. Republicans are willing to lose the Senate for a justice.

I mean what do you guys really want them to do? Having control of the house alone doesn't net you any real power. They shook their fist and raised their voices as much as they could, but they had no power to do anything about it. Now if they win the presidency, senate, and house again and they don't increase the number of judges on the SC then yeah they need to be ripped s new one.

People act like the people affected by a government shutdown aren't real people. I would have been without a paycheck. I only make 60k, and my fiance has been unemployed due to covid. I have 60k of student loans, many of which have been put on hold due to covid, but not all. It would have been disasterous, and that's not even taking into account the 6 months it would have set me back at work.

This shit affects real people.
