I can have one or the other.

I went to a gun show, and it had all three of my dream firearms. Which consist of an M1 Garand, a pre weapons ban Tommy Gun, and a pre weapons ban Uzi. The Uzi was too expensive though, so it's between the Tommy Gun and Garand.

The Tommy gun is .45 ACP, and I may know a way to make it automatic.

The M1 is a 30-30, and it's from 1945, and was refurbished in the 70's.

A Thompson that's pretty well broken in and lubed is really fun to shoot. Never fired an automatic though.

That's hard. The Garand is probably the better gun, but a tommy gun is a tommy gun. Well, I've always wanted a tommy gun so I'm biased. You're lucky to get either.

The Thompson is a complete hog. It may be fun to shoot for a short while, but it's way too heavy and mildly uncomfortable to shoot.

M1 Garand still holds up even today, and you can use it for precision iron sight shooting as well if it's in good condition.

Not this. All the same issues as the Thompson except it's also nearly uncontrollable in automatic fire without the later pattern bipods--By which point it was already entirely obsolete compared to other inter-war LMGs.

Alright I decided to go with the Garand. It was the first dream gun, so it's the first I'll get. I'm so excited!

I'd go with the Tommy. Cause converting the M1 to 30-30 is odd at best.

That makes way more sense, but since you said it was refurbed in the 70s I figured it was just something someone did.
